FROM LYME TO LIFE: A CLIENT’S RECOVERY AT PURE SWEAT + FLOAT STUDIO

About two years ago when I was in the throes of Lyme disease, I went to see Lynn Lavers, a naturopath in Nashville. I suffered from adrenal fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, inflammation, and skin abnormalities. Lynn suggested trying infrared saunas to help with the vast and debilitating Lyme symptoms.

I must admit I was extremely hesitant to try infrared saunas, as I had tried so many therapies and spent thousands of dollars on multiple treatments. After researching infrared saunas and the benefits, I thought to myself, “For $169 a month, I could go three times a week. Let the experience be the judge.” It took around a month for me to start feeling more like myself. By my third month going to the infrared sauna, I really began looking and experiencing a significant reduction in all of my symptoms. 

Trying not to get discouraged from a disappointing setback, I found out the the new apartment I inhabited had a mold issue. Thus, on top of my already taxing situation with Lyme disease, I now had to detox from mold! I went from going to the infrared sauna three times a week to their unlimited monthly membership. This routine lasted a few months. Hydration was always top of mind, and I replenished the good bacteria and vitamins + minerals needed in my body, as I was sweating much of it out. A regimen of regular saunas and Hydrate Electrolyte Age Quencher, which has a high source of antioxidants + a host of other vitamins to replenish and rehydrate, was the ticket.

Items of Note:

  • Many things in our body which give us trouble are due to inflammation. The brain fog you get is just that… inflammation pressing against an area of your brain.  

  • Remember pain is inflammation, which you will feel immediate results from after your sauna sessions. I call it my wonderful reset.  

  • My skin issues are mostly gone, though they do flare up from time to time.  

  • The magnesium in the floats relaxes our muscles and raises our white blood count cells, which helps fight off infection. The addition of a float every week or so is the perfect recipe for feeling great!

Fast forward two and a half years later, I am 100% myself again! I run, swim, bike, hike, do yoga, play non-stop with my 7-year-old granddaughter, and am never depleted. Today, my strong wellness regimen includes approximately 3-5 sauna sessions a week and one float weekly. I do not take any prescription drugs or supplements except fish oil for my brain. 

To me, a few hundred dollars a month for my wellness routine at Pure Sweat + Float Studio is nothing compared to the thousands of dollars I spent over the years to only try to eliminate Lyme symptoms and later mold toxicity. Parasites or viruses cannot reproduce or live in the infrared sauna heat, which is kept around 145 degrees fahrenheit. You see, I win the battle, not Lyme!
